4 weeks update
I'm not as good as I was the last time I wrote, but doing okay.
I 'm still mostly using a crutch when I walk more than a few steps, mostly because my gait is messed up by my weak quads, which makes me lock my knee, which leads to a sore, tired knee.
The last 2 days I have been quite sore in certain ranges of movement, and have just taken it easy. I skipped physio today because I felt like I was too sore to do the exercises. Planning to rest and go next Monday. After that it will have to be monthly as I will be back at work.
It's hard to imagine a time when I will walk normally again. I need to keep reminding myself that it has only been 4 weeks!
In other news my weight has decreased slightly, I have been sticking to a calorie limit of 1500/day which is a slight defecit, but not enough that it should impact my recovery. I had my second DEXA scan last week and I am finally at 22% body fat- I have not lost any lean mass, surprisingly and have lost some fat. Oddly I have GAINED a few grams of visceral fat so I will work on losing that before my next scan in December.
Hoping to get in to the gym more regularly now, at least to do cardio.
